Aluminum Stair Railing

We offer several different styles of stair railing that meet or exceed all applicable requirements as defined in the IBC (International Building Code). Stair railing is available in either 36” or 42” heights. 36” height stair railings are suitable for applications located 30” or less above grade while 42” height stair railings are suitable for locations that are located more than 30” above grade. 42” tall stair railings require an additional 36” tall grab rail that is mounted to the stair rail in order to satisfy code requirements. Stair rail can be plate mounted, core drilled or stringer mounted depending on site conditions. We recommend that you contact your local building authority before deciding which height railing will be suitable for your specific application due to the fact that individual building codes may vary from the IBC specifications.

We offer many different types of stair railing designs to accomodate various stair configurations, and the following are some common types of stair railings. Box or Enclosed stair railing design has walls on each side and no turns involved usually only requires a hand rail mounted on each wall or one wall depending on local codes. One side open stair railing includes a full body rail on one side and may or may not include a hand railing on the opposite side. Open design stair railing has neither a wall nor riser and is completely open except for a stair stringer on each side and stair rungs. Wrap-around stair railing may have a landing in between flights of stairs. Whatever the architectural requirements are, we can accommodate your needs.
